Police blotter: Police investigating three-vehicle crash
EAST PIKELAND — Police are investigating an accident involving two vehicles and a motorcycle along Route 113 late Saturday night.
According to Kimberton Fire Company Assistant Chief Al Kritzberger, the accident occurred around 9:30 p.m. Nov. 8 along Route 113 between Firehouse Lane and Coldstream Road.
Kritzberger said the fire company was dispatched to an accident with entrapment around 9:30 p.m.
One of the vehicles involved was a green Mitsubishi model and the motorcycle was a blue Yamaha ZX6R.
"We assisted in the extrication and the victim was placed in an ambulance to be airlifted," Kritzberger said.
The driver of the motorcycle was flown to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (HUP) with unknown injuries.
All three vehicles were towed from the scene. Fire officials cleared the scene around 2 a.m.

PERKIOMEN — Four students from Perkiomen Valley High School, two boys age 17 and two girls age 16, were arrested Oct. 30 after they were involved in the distribution or use of a controlled substance. Police said the investigation was ongoing.

SCHWENKSVILLE — Someone stole an EZPass from a 2006 Hyundai Tuscan Oct. 28 while the vehicle was in the parking lot of the Schwenksville Post Office around 2:30 p.m. Anyone with information should call the state police at Skippack at 610-584-1250 and reference incident K03-1589271.
STOWE — Police arrested Garris Mayes, 20, of Stowe, for simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, harassment and disorderly conduct after a domestic assault Nov. 4. Police responded to an apartment at 201 Jay St. around 12:35 p.m. where a man told them Mayes had thrown a stereo at him and grabbed him around the neck as he attempted to leave. The victim refused EMS and Mayes was arrested.
WEST POTTSGROVE — Michael Warrick, 24, of Elm Street, Pottstown, was arrested Nov. 1 after officers observed him in the area of 20 E. Howard St. around 9:30 p.m. As police drove by him, Warrick allegedly yelled a profanity. Police stopped Warrick and allegedly found him to be under the influence of alcohol. He was cited for public drunkenness.
SKIPPACK — Someone burglarized a home at 3823 Hallman Road Oct. 29 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. The person gained entry into the home by smashing a rear garage window. Once inside the person stole a 42 -inch flat screen television, various costume jewelry and a pearl necklace, before leaving undetected, police said. The value of the items stolen were approximately $1,500. Anyone with information regarding the burglary should call the state police at Skippack at 610-584-1250 and reference incident K03-1589401.
WEST POTTSGROVE — Isadore Tignoli, 41, of Stowe, was arrested Nov. 2 at 9 p.m. when officers responded to Pottsgrove Town Homes. Upon arrival they allegedly discovered Tignoli banging on the front door of a residence. He was allegedly found to be intoxicated and was taken into custody for public drunkenness.
SKIPPACK — Someone forced entry into a residence at 912 Collegeville Road between 8 and 11:20 a.m. Oct. 29. Once inside the person(s) stole two rifles, jewelry and various other personal items, police said. STOWE — Daniel Stercula, 50, of East Vine Street, Stowe, was arrested Oct. 30 after officers responded to an ambulance call in the 400 block of East Vine Street around noon and allegedly found Stercula intoxicated. He allegedly told police the last time he had had a drink was the previous night. His blood-alcohol test indicated he was intoxicated, police said.
UPPER HANOVER — Jenna Ann Winkler, 19, of Quakertown, suffered minor injuries after a one-vehicle crash on Geryville Pike Oct. 26, police said. According to police, Winkler was driving north on Geryville Pike approaching a curve in the road at Finland Road, when she failed to negotiate the curve and left the road. Winkler’s vehicle traveled into a ditch and then re-entered the roadway before traveling into another ditch on the other side of the road before it rolled once. Winkler refused EMS at the scene and was cited for a traffic violation.
STOWE — Police are investigating a daytime burglary that occurred Nov. 3 at 4:30 p.m. Officers responded to 129 Jefferson St., Stowe, where it was determined there was no forced entry. A title to a Harley-Davidson motorcycle, $300 in cash, a Capitol One credit card and the social security card belonging to the victim were stolen. NORTH COVENTRY — Police are investigating an incident of criminal mischief to a vehicle which occurred sometime during the overnight hours Nov. 4 and 5. Someone punctured two rear tires on a vehicle in the 200 block of Krepps Lane. Anyone with information should call the North Coventry Township police at 610-323-8360.
NORTH COVENTRY — Someone stole a box of juice drinks from a vehicle in the 1300 block of South Keim Street between Oct. 29 and 30. Anyone with information regarding this theft should call the North Coventry Township police at 610-323-8360.
WEST POTTSGROVE — Police are investigating a scam that may be targeting senior citizens. On Nov. 3, a township resident said she received a phone call from an 813 area code and reported the call to police. The caller identified themself as being from a company called United Legal Processing and indicated the victim owed the company money, police said. If the victim did not send the money she owed, she would be arrested, the woman told police. The victim was unfamiliar with the company and knew she had never done any business with them to owe them money, police said. Although this woman did not fall for the scam and send money, police are warning other residents to be aware of the scam. If anyone receives a similar phone call from a company requesting payment for a service they know they did not receive, contact police.
SOUTH COVENTRY — William A. Butler, 42, of St. Peter’s, was cited for speeding after a vehicle crash Oct. 29, police said. According to the state police at Embreeville, Butler was driving south on Route 100 behind a vehicle operated by Christopher Totaro, 20, of Malvern. When Totaro stopped for traffic, Butler was unable to stop in time to avoid striking him.
WEST NANTMEAL — Steven Edward Gretz, 54, of Elverson, was cited for harassment and criminal mischief for an incident Oct. 29 when he allegedly assaulted a woman and then damaged the woman's vehicle, state police at Embreeville said.
RED HILL — Someone stole a BMX style bicycle from 241 Main St. between Nov. 1 and 2.
UPPER HANOVER — Someone stole a 2004, black 6-foot-by-10-foot Ringo D610-7 dump trailer valued at approximately $4,500 from Autocrafter’s, 636 Gravel Pike, between Oct. 31 and Nov. 1. Anyone with information should report it to the state police at Skippack at 610-584-1250 and reference incident K03-1590393.
PERKIOMEN — Two rails from a split rail fence on Glendale Road and Cranberry Boulevard were damaged between 4 and 4:35 p.m. Nov. 3. Anyone with information should call the state police at Skippack and reference incident K03-1590477.
LOWER POTTSGROVE — Amanda Lord, 26, of Goshen, N.J., was arrested Nov. 3, for driving under the influence after she was involved in a one-vehicle crash on Prusshill Road. Police detected the odor of alcohol coming from her person and determined she was under the influence of alcohol. A breath test determined her blood-alcohol content was 0.186 percent, more than twice the legal limit.
SKIPPACK — Kevin Byrne, 43, of Collegeville, was arrested for driving under the influence Nov. 1, on Route 113 at Route 73, according to state police at Skippack. Byrne was stopped for traffic violations and found to be under the influence of alcohol. Police said charges are pending at district court.
UPPER HANOVER — SHeila Rutkowski, 39, of Quakertown, was charged with harassment Nov. 1 after she allegedly punched the victim in the face and kicked her in the shin at 799 Gravel Pike, according to the state police at Skippack.
LOWER POTTSGROVE — Kareema Griffin, 22, who has addresses in Philadelphia and Pottstown, was arrested for retail theft from K-Mart Oct. 31. Police said she was an employee at the store when she was seen stealing lingerie items and placing them in her locker. When her shift was over, Griffin attempted to leave the store with the items without paying for them. The total value of the items was $29.98.
UPPER HANOVER — James Barnes, 44, of Bethlehem and Samuel Hickey, 60 of Allentown, were cited for criminal trespass after they traveled onto fields at 2071 Baus Road Nov. 1, although the property is marked no trespassing. The two proceeded to hunt without permission at the location, according to police.
LOWER POTTSGROVE — A counterfeit $20 bill was confiscated from Diamond Credit Union by police Oct. 28. According to police, a costumer had attempted to deposit the counterfeit bill into her son’s account and the bill was identified as a counterfeit. Police said the investigation is ongoing.
TRAPPE — Burton R. Heffelfinger, 48, of Collegeville, and Tabatha A. Boettger, 41, of Collegeville, were involved in a domestic dispute Nov. 2 around 1:11 a.m. and assaulted each other, according to the state police at Skippack. Trooper Matthew Blauvelt wrote in a press release that both Heffelfinger and Boettger sustained minor injuries and both were arrested at the scene and charged with simple assault and harassment. The charges will be filed in district court.
PERKIOMEN — Christopher Joseph Berrang, 19, of Collegeville, was cited for underage drinking Oct. 17, by state police at Skippack.
LOWER POTTSGROVE — James Renninger, 42, who has no listed address, was arrested Oct. 29, for retail theft after he was observed stealing beef jerky valued at $23.16 from the Redner’s Warehouse Market on North Charlotte Street. Police said Renninger was found to have a prior retail theft arrest and was on probation in Montgomery county. He was arraigned by District Judge John J. Durkin and his bail was set at $1,000, 10 percent. Renninger’s preliminary hearing was held Nov. 3 and he was found guilty of a lesser charge and given time served.
SKIPPACK — Someone vandalized a vehicle parked in the 4700 block of MacGregor Drive between 1 and 4 a.m. Nov. 2 by putting powder and spraypaint on the vehicle. Police said the investigation continues.
NORTH COVENTRY — A wheel was stolen from a vehicle parked in the 200 block of East Urner Street between 6 p.m. Oct. 30 and 6 a.m. Oct. 31. The wheel was removed from the passenger side of the vehicle. Anyone with information should call the North Coventry Township Police at 610-3223-8360.
LOWER POTTSGROVE — Police and fire officials responded to 36 Blackberry Drive Oct. 31 for a medical emergency reported by the resident. When officials arrived they determined that there was a high level of carbon monoxide inside the residence which was the reasons for the patients illness. The family was treated by Goodwill Ambulance personnel for carbon monoxide poisoning.
RED HILL — Someone stole a white BMX style bicycle from 241 Main St., between 9:30 p.m. Nov. 1 and 12 a.m. Nov. 2.
EAST PIKELAND — Christopher Smith, 45, of 1218 Arch St., Norristown, was charged with driving under the influence Nov. 2 after he was allegedly spotted driving erratically on Route 23 west in the area of Kimberton Road. Police said one of Smith’s tires was flat and the car was running on the rim. Police were able to stop Smith on Kimberton Road and Pothouse Road.
PERKIOMEN — Someone spraypainted a circle in the driveway of 105 Greenview Boulevard Nov. 1 between 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Anyone with information should call the state police at Skippack at 610-584-1250 and reference incident K03-1590098.
PERKIOMEN — Someone broke two wooden benches at an elementary school in the Perkiomen Valley School District at 98 Kagey Drive between Oct. 31 and Nov. 1. Anyone with information should call the state police at Skippack at 610-584-1250 and reference incident K03-1590032.
PERKIOMEN — Someone damaged a vehicle at 175 Lodle St. between Oct. 30 and Oct. 31. Anyone with information should call the state police at Skippack at 610-584-1250 and reference incident K03-1589861.
PERKIOMEN — Someone smashed a mailbox at 179 Bridge St. between Oct. 30 and 31. The victim told police she heard a loud noise around 6 a.m. Oct. 31 and saw her mailbox had been smashed. UPPER SALFORD — Charges are pending against Jessica Mae Wickersham, 25, of Schwenksville, for driving under the influence Oct. 31, after a vehicle crash in the 300 block of Grubb Road. Police said Wickersham was traveling east in the eastbound lane on Grubb Road just east of Schwenksville Road when she lost control of her vehicle and traveled off the road. Her vehicle struck a speed limit sign with the passenger mirror and then continued to travel east when it struck a utility pole. Police said Wickersham exhibited signs of intoxication and was transported to Grandview Hospital for a blood test. Charges are pending.
UPPER HANOVER — Someone stole an iPod, a Garmin GPS unit, a Sirius radio, a Sony DVD player, an Audiovox DVD player, a backpack containing various tools, a flashlight and various DVDs from two vehicles parked at 2247 E. Buck Road Oct. 30 to Oct. 31. Police said the vehicles’ doors were unlocked. Anyone with information should call the state police at Skippack at 610-584-1250 and reference incident K03-1589734.

SCHWENKSVILLE — Someone damaged a driver's side rearview mirror on a vehicle parked on Second Street Oct. 29 between 6:50 and 8:20 p.m.
NORTH COVENTRY — During the overnight hours of Nov. 5, someone poured an unknown liquid on a vehicle that was parked in the 600 block of Kline Avenue, police said. The liquid damaged the vehicle’s paint, causing an estimated $2,000 in damage. In a likely unrelated incident, someone slashed a tire on a trailer parked on the 300 block of Elm Street, police said. This damage occurred during the overnight hours of Nov. 8. Anyone with information about these incidents is asked to call police at 610-323-8360.
NORTH COVENTRY — For allegedly stealing more than $600 in merchandise from Kohl’s, police arrested Sodonia Marie Medunic, 20, of Stowe, and Tenia Danise Jay, 18, of Cheney on Nov. 3. Police say the women tried to conceal multiple articles of clothing and other items before they left the store. Medunic allegedly had $410 in merchandise in her possession, while Jay allegedly had $213.40. Both women were stopped by security at Coventry Mall until police arrived.
NORTH COVENTRY — Michael Humpal, of Spring City, was arrested Nov. 8 at 1 a.m. for public drunkenness at the Wawa store on Route 724. During a search of Humpal, police say they found a small amount of marijuana. Charges have been filed for public drunkenness, possession of marijuana and underage drinking.
NORTH COVENTRY — Police are looking for the person(s) who broke into a storage shed and stole 45 cans of beer out of a refrigerator. Sometime between 7 p.m. Nov. 8 and 8:30 a.m. Nov. 9, someone forced their way into the shed, which is located on the 1800 block of St. Peter's Road.
SKIPPACK — Someone threw eggs at a vehicle owned by a Skippack man during the overnight hours of Oct. 25, state police said. This incident occurred on the 4000 block of Steeplechase Drive.
PERKIOMEN — Michael Stefaniuk, 55, was transported to Hahnemann Hospital for a possible broken leg, abdominal injuries and a right wrist laceration following a one-vehicle crash Oct. 26 on Route 73. According to police, Stefaniuk lost control of his Harley-Davidson motorcycle at 11:23 a.m. near the intersection with Route 29. His passenger, Rosanne Stefaniuk, 54, suffered moderate injuries, police said.
RED HILL — State police say Gusatavo Antonio Buendia, 40, of Florida, violated his protection from abuse order when he contacted a 25-year-old Red Hill woman by e-mail. This contact occurred Oct. 17 between 2:22 a.m. and 3:26 a.m.
RED HILL — During the overnight hours of Oct. 18, someone stole a hunting bow and arrows, as well as a rangefinder, from an unlocked vehicle on the 1200 block of Red Hill Road, police said. The equipment’s worth is estimated at $1,300. Anyone with information on this theft is asked to call 610-584-1250.
PERKIOMEN — Donna Marie Bruning, 46, of Schwenksville, has been charged with public drunkenness following an Oct. 20 incident off Lexington Road. According to police, Bruning acted in an unruly manner after police arrived for a medical emergency. She refused treatment and said she had been drinking since the day before. Police transported Bruning to Pottstown Memorial Medical Center for alcohol abuse.
POTTSTOWN — Brenda Lynn Evans, 42, of Pottstown, and Edward Merkel, 39, of Boyertown, were each cited for their roles in a prostitution arrangement on Oct. 3, police said. At approximately 11 p.m., Evans approached a vehicle driven by Merkel near 300 Union Alley. A police officer observed the situation from his police car nearby. Evans allegedly offered oral sex for $5. Police said Merkel’s car had been stopped before for a “sex violation.”
POTTSTOWN — Jason R. Baldwin, 30, of Pottstown, was charged with theft and receiving stolen property for allegedly taking $500 worth of gold from Pottstown Cash Traders on High Street, according to police. On Oct. 3 at 5:35 p.m., police say security cameras showed Baldwin took several pieces of gold from the counter. He occasionally performs chores around the store, police said. Baldwin allegedly took the metal to Cash Converters, where he received $250 for it, police said. Police said the shop owners will arrange a reimbursement.
POTTSTOWN — On Oct. 4, Sharon Dixon, 51, of Pottstown, allegedly stole $30.74 worth of merchandise from the Rite Aid at 340 High St. A store manager stopped Dixon as she went to leave the store.
POTTSTOWN — Elijah James Tufarolo, 24, of Pottstown, was charged with disorderly conduct and possession of drug paraphernalia Oct. 4 at 3:30 p.m. According to the incident report, Tufarolo quickened his pace as he walked past officers near the 500 Spruce Alley. He allegedly threw a hooded sweatshirt on top of a parked car. Police said they found a metal pipe in Tufarolo’s possession, similar to those used to ingest narcotics.
NORTH COVENTRY — Two women tried to conceal $79 in merchandise at a SuperFresh grocery store on Oct. 22, police said. Jasmine Karpinski, 21, and Kelsey Dillender, 20, both of Pottstown have been charged with retail theft.
WORCESTER — State police were dispatched to Methacton High School Oct. 16 around lunchtime for a fight in the cafeteria. Police say a 17-year-old Collegeville woman and 17-year-old Audubon man were both given disorderly conduct citations.
Political sign thefts
In October, campaign signs disappeared from Becker Road in Upper Frederick, East Borough Line Road in Trappe, Whiteschool Road in Honey Brook and many other locations, state police reported. Someone sprayed a swastika on a political sign that was displayed on a Mine Hill Road lawn. This incident happened during the overnight hours of Oct. 15.
TRAPPE — A dog entered a home on the 200 block of Clayhor Avenue and killed another dog, according to state police. The attacking canine, owned by 38-year-old Mellissa Hansell, bit a dog owned by another 38-year-old woman, police said. This incident happened Oct. 24 at 3:30 p.m.
NORTH COVENTRY — Someone stole a Toro generator from the 500 block of Schuylkill Road between Oct. 28 and Oct. 30, police said. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call 610-323-8360.
